2017 Councilor at Large Forum

In October 2017, NLC hosted a Councilor at Large forum at the community room at the Lynn Housing Authority, which roughly one hundred people attended. Six of the eight candidates attended and were asked three questions based on our five point platform. We asked them if they supported a sanctuary city ordinance, if they supported a wage theft ordinance, and if they an inclusionary zoning ordinance. While the sanctuary city and inclusionary zoning ordinance received mixed support, the wage theft ordinance was overwhelming supported.

The event also gave residents an opportunity to voice their concerns. Chart paper was placed around the room, representing each of the five points as well as another sheet for any other concerns. These comments were then typed up and sent to the councilors for consideration during their term.
